Pysäköintiin suositellaan ensisijaisesti Herttoniemen urheilupuiston parkkia, katujen varsilla on toki jonkin verran pysäköintitilaa.
Sinisellä ympyröity alue on päivän pääkohde, valkoisella ja harmaalla alueella voidaan myös siivota, mikäli tarvetta ilmenee, ei kuitenkaan mennä pihapiiriin asti.
HUOM. Kartassa violetilla värillä rajattu alue on luonnonsuojelualuetta, jolle EI saa mennä, varsinkaan näin lintujen pesintäaikaan. Tosin suurin osa alueesta on ruovikkoa

Helsingin kaupungin ympäristökeskus on ehdottanut nykyistä luonnonsuojelualuetta laajennettavaksi rannalle, jolloin alue joka nyt on siivouksen kohteena kuuluisi luonnonsuojelualueeseen:
Ehdotettu luonnonsuojelualue ulottuu Mäenlaskijantieltä Fastholmaan. Se kuuluu Saunalahden itärantaa pitkin kulkevaan ekologiseen käytävään ja vihersormeen, joka alkaa Sipoosta ja loppuu Kivinokkaan. Uusi luonnonsuojelualuen käsittää muun muassa kosteikkoa, aarnimaista metsää, rantalehtoja ja ensimmäisen maailmasodan aikaisen tykkitien ammusvarastoluolineen. Alueella pesii muun muassa käpytikka, pikkutikka, lehtopöllö, sammakoita ja vesiliskoja. Kauriit, joita Stara ruokkii Fastholmassa, ynnä tavanomaisemmat nisäkkäät kärpästä kettuun kulkevat Saunalahden rantaa pitkin Kivinokkaan.
Helsinki Environment Centre (Ympäristökeskus) has proposed to extend the current nature reserve from the bay area to the shore. So the area that we are going to clean might become part of the reserve in the future.
The proposed nature reserve area would begin from the street Mäenlaskijantie and extend to the Fastholma area. The area belongs to environmental corridor at eastern coast of bay Saunalahti and "green finger", that begins from Sipoo and ends to Kivinokka. The new reserve would contain eg. wetlands, primeval forest, shore grove and artillery road & ammunition storage cave from the WW I. Within the area there have been spotted nesting Great Spotted Woodpecker, Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, Tawny owl, frogs and aquatic lizards. There are also capricorns (which Stara is feeding at Fastholma) and the more conventional mammals from ermine to fox that roam along the beach to Kivinokka.
