Geocache Description:

A CITO (Cache In Trash Out) event in support of the Helen Schuler Nature Centre's Annual Coulee Clean-Up and in conjunction with the Spring International Cache In Trash Out Events.

In Lethbridge, we are fortunate to have a beautiful river valley bisecting our community. Our river valley is a diverse natural environment that offers a variety of opportunities to enjoy nature. There are a number of geocaches placed throughout the river valley that allow us to explore the various areas of this unique part of our city.

The Coulee Clean-Up, coordinated by the Helen Schuler Nature Centre, is a volunteer-driven initiative aimed at removing garbage from our natural environment. Waste materials such fast food packaging, plastic bags and construction debris are unsightly and not good for wildlife habitat or waterways. Our assigned area is the lower portion of Bull Trail Park. There will be a volunteer appreciation barbecue in August for those who wish to attend.

Cache In Trash Out is an ongoing environmental initiative supported by the worldwide geocaching community. International Cache In Trash Out events are celebrated where geocachers have an opportunity to participate in coordinated worldwide clean-up efforts. This event is being held in conjunction with the Spring Cache In Trash Out Events on April 22nd to April 30th, 2017.

Event Time: 10:00 AM to noon on April 23rd. Meet at the parking lot West of Fort Whoop-Up (see additional waypoint) to register, sign the logbook, and sign a waiver. The group will then proceed across the pedestrian bridge to the clean-up location.
Clean-Up Location: The lower portion of Bull Trail Park bounded by the top coulee edge on the West; Bull Trail (red shale path) on the South; Whoop-Up Drive on the SE; and the Oldman River on the NE.

Provided: Gloves and garbage bags

Bring: Water, suitable clothing and good shoes

All who attend and log this event will get a CITO souvenir for their profile.

The event will go rain or shine. Dress according to weather. See you then!

Event will be hosted by RedheadGrantaire and 4 the Fun of It!
