Geocache Description:

It was a dark and stormy night, crazed geocachers wandered the forest, and you have to figure out how to keep your smileys. That's the premise behind this series of gadget geocaches that are best done in daylight.

This is a series of gadget caches that follow the storyline, and the outer loop trail of the Briley Township Recreation Area. So you have a chance to individually solve the story there is no official start time. The clock starts when you pull in the parking area. We will have coffee and donuts available from daybreak until noon. The caches will be published later in the day. Show up between those hours for an early chance to be first to solve this tricky series. FTF's prizes are random, so don't speed to get here.

A new access road was installed last summer (2016) and can be reached off the north end of Pettinger Rd. (Street across from Freddies Market) Stay to the left and climb into the forest. The road ends at the parking lot.

These caches have been placed with the permission and blessings of the Briley Township Board. This recreation area has been underused and neglected in the past but a new group of citizens and a new board are willing to open to as many non-conflicting uses as possible.

Please leave the geomobile in the parking lot, and hike, ski, run, snowshoe, bike, horseback ride, or skip to the caches. There is a traditional cache near the parking lot, then the difficulty rises with multi and puzzle caches. They are along the outside trail, but ability to hide requirements may have you leaving the trail.

These cache ideas have been stolen from other states and the internet, and of course made larger because we have mental issues with micro’s. (If it can’t hold a coin…)

These are a new level of cache craft for us and we ask you to respect the containers. These are not designed to be easy, and none are going to fall open by luck. If the container stumps you, look for clues in other caches, look at hint on website, check previous logs, or contact the CO. They are built to handle some rough usage, but hammers and chainsaws are not allowed.

Special clues: In the caches are hints that pertains to another cache in the series, you figure out which cache the clue goes to and decipher.
