Once again, the CVGA crew is headed south of the river to celebrate geocaching and Father’s Day, within the beautiful confines of Pocahontas State Park. We have reserved the Dining Hall for Sunday, June 18, 2016 to hold the thirteenth annual Richmond Rally geocaching event. It's another chance to put a face to all those names you see in the logs or on the forums and meet some new folks as well! We've got the shelter until sunset and plan to kick things off at around 11:00am. Bring the family and some geo-cash for the raffles, and various fun games you may want to participate in! Who knows, you might just win a great prize PLUS bragging rights!
GENERAL INFORMATION
(UPDATE!!) PARKING INFORMATION:
If you are coming the Rally Parking is Free!! Please let them know at the gate when you enter that you are there for the rally!!The parking fee is $7 per car for day visitors on Sunday. Parking is included (for 2 vehicles) with camping fees. Parking fees are required anytime you park a car at Pocahontas State Park - whether you go into the main park area or not. There are a couple of drop boxes in the larger parking areas or you can pick up a parking pass at the main entrance. The State of Virginia has various annual and lifetime passes that frequent visitors may be interested in. Also, Friends of Pocahontas State Park volunteers can earn a yearly parking pass with volunteer hours.
CAMPING INFORMATION:
Camping is available, make reservations thru the park's website on your own - tell them you are geocaching, and they will try to group you with other cachers.
FOOD INFORMATION:
Once again, CVGA will provide the meat, and kindly asks that everyone bring something to share. Please take a look through the previous RSVP logs to see what we'll need, and then when you do your RSVP mention what you'll be bringing to share for lunch! Options are: Side dishes, sweet/dessert dishes, water, or the ever-popular "Just let me know what you need!"
CACHE CONTAINER CONTEST:
Don't forget to bring a Creative Cache for the Cache Container Contest. Limit one entry per cacher.
Entries may be an item entirely constructed by the entrant, a container that is camouflaged by the entrant, or a purchased or found item that has been somehow transformed into a cache.
Prizes will be awarded based on the votes from event attendees.
If you wish to donate your container as a door prize, or as part of the silent auction, then let us know.
We also need items for the Raffle in a Bag. If you have items you can donate please let us know! You can just respond by writing a note.

We are good on paper products, but if there is anything else you would like to bring please do so!!
