Geocache Description:

While dropping off some travel bugs at a historical cache container in the area, I looked across the lake and noticed that one of the islands was now accessible by foot.  This was due to the low lake level, mainly due to our drought that took place in the fall of 2016.  If you remember, we didn't get rain for 42 consecutive days in the area, which broke a 132-year record.  What better opportunity than now to place a cache before the lake level rises again.

I don’t know why this island is called and shows up on a map as Beaver Island.  While seeking permission from the Army Corps of Engineers, they didn’t know it was called Beaver Island.  I doubt you will encounter many people as your get close the GZ.    The current terrain setting will change depending on the lake level.  FTF will collect a $5 gift card to Starbucks.  Good luck!! Congrats to GingerMerican for the FTF!!
