Geocache Description:

A series of geocaches to celebrate Slavic Myth and Folklore.

The geocache is not at posted coordinates, but is about a 1/3 to 1/2 mile walk (or drive) away.

This the ninth in a series of geocaches about Slavic Myth and Folklore, focuses on the figure of Pizamar, the Goddess of art and music. In Ivan Hudec's book, "Tales from Slavic Myths", we read the following account of how Pizamar changed from a mortal to a god.

Svarozhich, the ruler of the gods, one day happened to catch sight of a woman whose beauty surpassed that of any other.  Pizamar was her name, and she was the youngest of seven daughters of a farmer and fishmonger.  He watched her as she sang by the river, unaware that she had drawn the attention of a God. Svarozhich consorted with her in different forms, sometimes as a sunbeam, or as a breeze, or as a mist.

But since Pizamar was mortal, she could not have immortal children from Svarozhich, and this made her sad. So sad that she went to a high cliff over a river, and wished herself dead. But to protect her from jumping off the cliff, came the Night Fairy, Nochnitsa, who would make her sleepy, so she would lay down safely and sleep instead of jumping off the cliff. The Goddess Chors suggested to Svarozhich a way to solve this problem -- they could make Pizamar into an immortal one, a Goddess. Svarozhich agreed, and so the Goddess Chors gave Pizamar some of the mead of the Gods. Then she became immortal, and her music softened the other gods.

This geocache is not at the posted coordinates, but the posted coordinates are the starting place to find the clues needed to find the cache.

To find this geocache, we will start at a place that features art and music.  When you get to this place, you will find 4 different murals in this area.  There is one large one, another smaller one at a different angle to the north, and then a midsize one more to the north, and just around the corner, the final one.  Call the first and largest mural  with the guitar on top, "Mural One", the second smallest mural with the one woman , "Mural Two" , the third mural to the north a bit,  "Mural Three" and the mural around the corner on the other street, "Mural Four".

The coordinates for the cache location are 37 51. ABC North, and 122 15.DEF West, where

A = Number of people playing rattles in Mural One.

B = Number of people playing a musical instrument in Mural Four.

C = Number of people playing guitars in Mural One.

D = Number of animals (birds or insects) in Mural Two (make sure to look over whole mural from up high to down way low...)

E = Number of people playing wind instruments in Mural One

F =  Number of people playing drums in Mural One plus number of stars in Mural Three

Check your work:  A + B + C = 14,  D + E + F = 16

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.

Congratulations to BerkeleyBoomers for the FTF!!
