Geocache Description:

We enjoy doing bush tracks & thought this would be an opportunity to help out a little with the maintenance of one track.

We came here a week or so ago to scope out if it would be an appropriate place for a CITO, but was surprised at how little rubbish there was in the carpark, so we're unsure if we got it on a good day or it's kept pretty well maintained.

However, we have decided to go ahead with our plans so that it fits in with the later event at the Rangiwahia hut, but in the spirit of CITOing, we ask that attendee's collect a decent amount of rubbish at a place of their choice, on the way here, and mention in your log the area it was collected. (And please don't just clean out the car or bring rubbish from home ).

PLEASE NOTE, the rubbish will be left in the boot of our car while we do the walk to Rangiwahia Hut, so please use commonsense & DO NOT bring anything too large, smelly or messy. We will bag it up in large black rubbish bags/rubbish bins. If there proves to be way more rubbish collected than we can handle, we may ask that you take your rubbish with you to dispose of yourself. Thanks

We'll also CITO the carpark area & the track up to the hut (those that want to go up after this event).

The event will officially be from 10 - 10.30am at the carpark. With a photo at about 10.25.

We'll even make a special, one off pet rock to mark the occasion, for those that collect them.
