10:00 AM - 12:00 PM, Sunday 30th April
Davidson Street Bushland, Greenacre
In conjunction with Strathfield Council, Geocaching NSW would like to invite all geocachers (both members and non-members) to help celebrate this year’s International CITO week by lending a hand to clean up part of the Davidson Street Bushland, Greenacre. Your participation in this event will earn you the souvenir for the first International CITO Week in 2017. (The second week will be in September).
This reserve is located at the corner of Davidson Street and Hume Highway (Liverpool Road). Parking should be available in Davidson Street or Marlene Crescent.
Strathfield council will confirm the nature of the work involved in the coming days. Activities suggested by the council's Natural Resources Coordinator include:
1. Planting local native species.
2. Habitat enhancement of frog pond(s).
3. Moving mulch from outside reserve to where plantings are done.
4. Litter collection.
Please wear long trousers, a long sleeved shirt and sturdy close toed shoes. Gardening gloves are essential; hat, drinking water and insect repellant are advised. Council will supply tools and bags as well as back-up PPE (e.g. gloves). Please note there are no toilet facilities in the reserve, however there should be some at the nursery across Davidson Street. Also, note that dogs are not allowed in the reserve, so please leave your four-legged friends at home.
Please post a “Will Attend” log and add this event to your watchlist so you receive any announcements.
