Geocache Description:

A lot of this area has been cleared and the original cache and host were destroyed - I have finally found a suitable host to resemble the original sand pond memory!!

Not long ago, I was caching near Tallahassee and biked out to one of the oldest caches in the area, Sand Pond Cache from October of 2001. We really enjoyed the bike ride and hike in the sugar sand to visit this oldie and I picked up a cool item while near there and yes, you guessed it, it became part of this cache! It really is a Sand Pond Memory! Loc​ated in the beautiful Frenchman's Forest Natural Area this cache is out west on the yellow trail and then just a bit off trail. There are lots of thorny vines as well as prickly pear cacti in this area so long pants and a careful step would be wise. If you choose to wear shorts, just watch where you walk as you leave the trail.  When you spy this cache please be gentle in both retrieval and replacement!
