Geocache Description:

The cache is hidden in a pine tree on the western edge of Honeybog hill, located between Ralston and Penilee.

A copper coin (96 - 98 AD) and the base of a beaker of red clay with cream slip were found a number of years ago beside the burn that runs between the hill and the railway. The latter is on display in the Huntarian Museum in Glasgow.

The safest way to access the hill is by parking on Kinpurnie Road and going through the small gate at the end of Tynley Road on the left, this will take you directly into the field below the hill (see waypoint).

Please follow paths and avoid walking directly over the fields, esp is spring when the Skylarks are nesting. All fields on the north side of the hill are currently used, those on the south side are not and you can wander freely.

Wellies are highly recommended as the area is generally muddy, more so after rain, heed the cache name!!

Hope you enjoy the panoramic views of Glasgow and Paisley from here, especially on a fine day.

Happy hunting
