Geocache Description:

The co-ordinates above take you to an information board with much detail about Crofton Woods. This information will help you locate the cache.

Crofton Woods is a site of special scientific interest so please respect it when you walk through and do the caches. The woods contain a variety of trees and plants and are home to many animals, insects and birds. If you look into the streams you can see the rounded pebbles of the Blackheath Beds, and there are also small fish in some of the deeper pools. The many footpaths are used regularly by walkers, joggers (including BigT) and dog walkers. To locate the cache you will need to go to:

N51 22 ABC

E000 04 DEF

A= number of letters in the name of the Common identified nearest to this board.

B= number of brooks shown on the map

C= the number of Fly Agarics shown, plus one

D= fifth number in the L B Bromley’s telephone number

E= number of footbridges that cross the Kyd Brook

F= number of letters in the type of owl shown on the information board

The cache is magnetic and on the east side of the brook.  Be careful. Watch out for passers-by.

Permission for cache placement in the SSSI obtained from Ian Wright, Biodiversity Advisor and Site Manager for Crofton Woods and from Natural England.
