This well hidden cache is on the London Loop. It is next to the path which can be muddy, on the side of the big oaks, one of which has lost a limb. You have to leave the path and walk 5 steps to find the cache. Crofton Woods is a site of special scientific interest so please respect it when you walk through and do the caches.
Did you know that from about 1900 a smallpox hospital existed deep in the woods of Crofton Heath? It was rarely used and closed in 1956 – the building has long been demolished and nature has done its best to reclaim the site, although there are still some traces to be found.
