[ITA] La Torre Piezometrica
Eccoci qui. Il cache vi vuole portare a vedere questo curioso restauro in fase di terminazione.
Si tratta della Torre piezometrica ex-Breda alta 45 metri che si trova all’angolo tra viale Sarca e via Chiese a Milano.
L'edificio è un simbolo della Milano industriale Breda e aveva la funzione di serbatoio idraulico sulla linea dell’acquedotto.
Da molti anni in disuso, dal 2003 è stato concesso in uso all’Università di Milano-Bicocca.
La torre e l'area circostante sono stati da subito utilizzati dall’Ateneo come “laboratorio all'aperto” per le prove e i rilievi sulla qualità dell'aria, del rumore e dell'acqua condotti dal Dipartimento di Scienze dell'Ambiente e del Territorio e di Scienze della Terra
Il restauro ha riguardato il rifacimento della copertura, degli intonaci, dei serramenti e il recupero del serbatoio sulla sommità. Oltre alla apparecchiature già presenti, che resteranno in funzione, il laboratorio di Chimica dell’Atmosfera installerà una stazione meteorologica completa.
Successivamente è stato recuperato l'edificio di due piani accanto alla Torre, che conteneva i macchinari necessari al funzionamento del serbatoio e l’abitazione del custode.
Tra le nuove funzioni è prevista la realizzazione di un’aula da 72 posti al piano seminterrato e di una sala multifunzionale al primo piano.
Ma a che cavolo serve una torre Piezometrica?
Le torri possono svolgere una o più delle seguenti funzioni ... ma siccome sono aspetti tecnici un po' noiosi vi racconto quello più semplice.
Per il semplice effetto dei vasi comunicanti.. una torre Piezometrica deve essere abbastanza alta da poter garantire un controllo delle pressione di una condotta sul tutto il dislivello. Se siete curiosi o non siete ingegneri idraulici... See Wikipedia!

Come per la cache... anche molte torri piezometriche sono nascoste in strutture famose... e sapete dove??.. ad esempio a Milano...Il Castello Sforzesco di Milano: in due dei torrioni laterali furono collocate cisterne d'acqua con funzione di torri piezometriche
