Due to caches going missing this is the fourth generation of this Fye bridge cache. This one is nothing like the previous caches so do not look at the Gallery Pictures for hints.
The bridge you are looking at that spans the River Wensum is the Fye Bridge. It is thought to be the oldest river crossing in Norwich and is the gate to the north of the city, known as "Norwich Over the Water". The bridge is the site of a Ducking Stool for ducking lawbreakers and witches. Once ducked into the river, if the accused came up drowned, then they were innocent of their charges; if they survived the ducking, then they were obviously possessed by the devil and were deemed guilty - likely to be burned at the stake !
I have been told by local Geocachers that there have been caches along this stretch of the river before, but all have been muggled. So, this cache aims to put this right. I will keep a close eye on the GZ; it is a busy area with pedestrians, cyclists and runners.
