Thanks to Coquitlam's Park Spark program, we will CITO Lafarge Lake, Sunday April 30th from 10:00-12:00.
The City's program will provide garbage bags, litter pickers (limited amounts, if you have some, please bring them!), safety vests, and vinyl gloves to help us in their endeavours to tidy up this great park! This was their suggestion and choice of parks to clean up...
In addition, you will find some great geocaches within the park that you can claim (if not too muggly) while you clean up! And many, many more within a few minutes drive. Clean up, grab lunch at one of the nearby restaurants and explore Coquitlam's caches. Bug girl knows of a great insect series nearby that is easy to walk and enjoy with your kids after you're done here...
We will supply hot water for tea and hot chocolate and will buy one caraffe of coffee for the event. If you have a thermos of hot water/coffee to share, that would be fantastic! It will be much more delightful to have goodies: if you can (not mandatory) please bring some kind of breakfast treat that is easy to share - muffins, cinnamon buns, etc. Please bring your own water bottle if it is a warm day. We will buy a flat of water , but when it's gone, it's gone... You will see us set up at the table with the geocaching symbol, below the parking area, on the grass.
We don't want to guarantee that it is a completely wheelchair accessible event-but most of the area is well trodden grass fields/hard packed trails. With a grabber to reach for trash, it should be very doable for those on wheels!
Rain or shine-we're cachers after all!
*** Please note cachers will have to sign a city waiver form to participate***
