Slieveanorra Forest Traditional Cache

This cache is in a remote location in the heart of Slieveanorra Forest. The cache is approximately 1.25 miles from the car parking area at the trail head. The track to the cache has a reasonable surface and would be suitable for an all-terrain buggy but not a wheelchair. There is a thigh height gate at the start of the trail which is normally locked over which a buggy would have to be lifted although there is some space to walk around the side. 

Follow the path from the car parking area until you reach it's end. Then turn left and continue until you reach the co-ordinates indicating the cache. It is a bit of a climb in places. At the co-ordinates there is a make-shift layby on the left where the path widens over the track-side ditch. There is heavy tree cover over the cache itself so I have not attempted to provide co-ordinates for it but it will be easily found from the lay-by location. You need to enter the forest until you are about 10 trees in where the cache should be readily apparent. At certain times of year there will be a small gully to follow. If you walk on its left side you will soon be at the correct spot. The cache should not be visible from the main track or the lay-by but it will be hard to miss when you are at the right spot. No searching will be necessary. The log is in a small bison attached to a much larger object. If you can get them up the hill children should enjoy this cache. Please leave the cache as you find it and check that it is not visible from the track as you leave. Good luck to all.
