Getting there is the hard part. The island's terrain provides a pleasant and magical hike. In the summer, expect mosquitos, ticks, and the usual northern Minnesota critters.
While on his summer vacation, Woody, the Bear (with the help of Underdog and Sweet Polly) hid his first cache. He chose an appropriately named island in an Itasca County lake. You'll need a watercraft to find this ammo can with a geocaching sticker on the side. Check out the pictures for a good landing spot on the island and to see Woody with the original cache contents. Dense tree cover may diminish the accuracy of your GPS...Woody's reported accuracy to within 30 feet. Besides, the mosquitos were so bad he couldn't stand still any longer.
