Geocache Description:

Crossing Seven States

The North Country Trail was established in 1980 and is now over 4600 miles in length, making it the longest marked trail in the United States.

The trail marks are usually small blue rectangles on trees, signs, or even on rocks.

These blazes will tell the direction the trail is heading.
Go Straight Turn Right Turn Left

Trailheads will have the emblem of the trail and possibly a blaze as well. Here are two examples:
Wooden Sign Resin Sign

However, some sections of the trail have no blazes at all. In the case of the Paul Henry Trail, it travels through private property in this stretch and it would just not be neighborly to slap paint on someone else's tree.

So, they have to make do with emblems stapled to the marker posts, like on the one next to this cache.

Happy hunting!
