dmchapman: I no longer have my trail buddies for company and the trail is not particularly E-bike friendly so I will not try to refresh or maintain this Cache.

I was walking my dogs today and looking for access to Herring Creek above the end of the logging road. I stumbled onto a very nice trail that eventually took me well up the canyon to a free form camp on the creek.
This Cache is located on a nice trail that will take you past cascades, waterfalls, a large pool and a nice backpacking or picnicking spot. The Cache site is at a junction of the trail with a short spur down to the water. At this point if you look around you can connect with Forest Road 4N12H that connects with Herring Creek Rd. The trail continues up the creek and on a later hike I found that the trail goes across Herring Creek on a log crossing and continues to Catfish Lake(s). Herring Creek Rd is closed seasonally but Herring Creek Ln is open all year. I plotted the trail to be easily accessible but if you're not averse to a very slight amount of bushwhacking you can start at the gate and follow the wide road about .2 mile until you see a large brush pile above you on the left at N38° 12.230 W119° 59.862. Go due North about 400' passing to the left of the brush pile and gaining about 80' elevation. You can intersect the trail at about N38° 12.268 W119° 59.864. Turn right and the rest of the trip is an easy walk.
