Welcome to the ‘Starship Enterprise’ Geo-Art. Each puzzle is different ,themed around SPACE and is ‘hopefully’ designed to help you learn a little about different types of puzzles. Some will obviously be a little harder than others but should be doable with a little patience.

Some of the rural roads may be rough, narrow, have roaming livestock or be flooded during heavy rain events, so please drive to suit the conditions and the limitations of your vehicle and driver.

Starship Enterprise
USS Enterprise (NCC-1701) is a starship in the fictional Star Trek universe, depicted in four network television series, six feature films, and countless books and fan-created media. The original Star Trek series (1966–1969) features a voice-over by Enterprise captain, James T. Kirk (William Shatner), which describes the mission of Enterprise as "to explore strange new worlds; to seek out new life and new civilizations; to boldly go where no man has gone before". The ship's design "formed the basis for one of sci-fi's most iconic images," though the ship has gone over many changes over the course of its television and cinematic appearances.

ALIENS IN DAN DARE
In my youth, I watched the first satellites orbiting in the night sky. The Russians originally led the space race with Sputnik, Leika (the dog) and Yuri Gagarin all looking down on us, before any Americans. The first American Astronaut was Alan Shepherd but we really remember “one small step for man” by Neil Armstrong. However, my reading was about a British program and Dan Dare. Colonel Daniel McGregor Dare, pilot of the Interplanetary Fleet, born in Manchester, also met aliens. Initially Dan “took off” in the Eagle comic. The vehicle most identified with Dan was the winged spaceship Anastasia. There was also a time-travel ship called Tempus Frangit. Dedicated followers were delighted with a series of reprints from 1987-1995. These reprints included Prisoners of Space. Later came The Man from Nowhere, Rogue Planet plus The Phantom Fleet. Mekon, the ruler of Treens, was Dan Dare’s arch enemy but Sondar, another Treen was to later become the Governor of Venus. The Space-fleet’s Space-port on Earth is found in Formby, Lancashire. In 1982 Eagle was relaunched with Dan reinvented as the great-great-great-grandson of the original astronaut. As you can see Dan was way ahead of his American and Russian competitors putting England first in the space race.
