Geocache Description:

Springlead, like Cathcar, Opposum Gully and Rhymney, was a propersou gold and farming region. The miners have gone, the farmers are still present and maintain a proud independence from Ararat and Moyston.

Due to concerns of the Springlead Cemetray Trust the cache has been placed approx 500m from the cemetray. This also allows for better access, via a sealed road.

For those of you interested in the the cemetary, you are welcome to visit, but, please respect the property and the decessed. The cemetary is still being used to bury members of local families and their descendants.

For more information, David Weatherill, has provided a small description.
