Geocache Description:

US Army Camp Fannin 1943-1946 Site 9

This cache is located at the marker for Site 9 of the World War 2 military installation named Camp Fannin.  Camp Fannin was an Army infantry training center.  The area near Winona, Texas is the location for Camp Fannin and there are several markers around the area.  Site 9 is somewhat away from the markers over on the south side of Interstate 20 and I was surprised when I happened upon this marker.  I am trying to find out more about the history of Site 9 and hope to add something to this description in the future.  For now you are looking for a homemade container right at the monument.  This is an unusually busy intersection so the hide is not meant to be difficult or require a lot of searching around the area.  For a precise location see the hint.  Enjoy
