This geocache is very special to us. It's our first hide in Canada, just a couple of blocks from our house.
We love walking along the Gorge Waterway and across the Selkirk Trestle. If you are lucky enough, you will get to see bald eagles, buffleheads, otters or seals.
This is so true, that on our way back after hiding the cache, a bald eagle flew just 30 feet over our heads. Amazing, considering that this place is so close to a densely populated area.
The best way to approach the location is going to the end of Washington Ave and climbing down the rocks. These rocks can be slippery when wet, so please be careful.
An alternative and shorter way to get there is crossing the fence and going down a narrow and steep path down to the beach.
You'll know you've reached GZ when you see an arbutus tree that grows downward.
Be gentle when handling the container. Open it, sign the logbook, close it carefully making sure it's well sealed, and replace it exactly where you found it.
Unfortunately, some people leave a lot of trash behind, so please bring a garbage bag if you can, and help us keep this place clean.
Thank you, and good luck finding the cache!
