Geocache Description:

A small series which takes in a lovely walk around a local beauty spot. Listerdale woods has long been a favourite of adults and children for many generations.

This Cache maybe your 3rd (if you entered the wood at the Brecks) or your first (if you entered from one of the Wickersley entrances).

This part of the wood is the most managed and has been kept well tended over the years. The broad expansive hill is a main entrance and favoured by dog walkers as it's largely free of undergrowth.

Many years ago Listerdale was host to several motorcycle events including grass track, scrambling (a forerunner of motocross) and hill climbing. There are still signs that local motorcycle enthusiasts use the woods now albeit in an unofficial capacity.

Care is advised at this as there is an incresed risk of muggles in this part of the wood.
