Thanks to the efforts of a helpfull and dedicated fellow cacher it is once again possible to go back - to 1962!
The remains of the original cache were gathered up and re-hidden in a new, smaller container along with some new items. Note the new coordinates. N43,27.860 W80,32.338.
Thank you Lynx1 and the Hunter!
The cache is now closer to the 1962 tree.
Original description:
I know this is very near to another cache but I had to hide one here. I grew up here - lived at 13 Dietz Ave., S. and remember this area before it was developed. It was practically our backyard and we had many adventures here as children. In 1962 when I was 6 my father carved my name in a beech tree near to the cache site. (Look for Tim R 62 about 15 meters SE of the cache near the top of the hill. We were lucky the tree survived the development.)
A small tupperware container with a green lid. The container is only approximately 10 by 10 by 4 inches and is nearly full, so please only bring smaller items to trade. Original contents include:
- Logbook and 3 pencils
- Screwdriver with 6 bits
- Superball
- 2 AA Batteries
- Marvin the Martian fridge magnet
- 2 glowsticks
- Canada keychain
- Canada flag stickers
- The Travelling Dolphin Travel Bug
