2017 Metro Parks GeoTrail - Walnut Woods Traditional Geocache

Walnut Woods Metro Park has three areas and this cache is found in the central area that opened just a few years ago. Park in the Buckeye Area or at the Park Office and take a short hike on the Kestrel Trail.  Watch for Osprey hunting in the pond to feed their nesting young or look for Kestrels hunting in the fields. All the bats found in Ohio are insectivores and spend their nights hunting mosquitoes, moths, and other flying insects.  During the day, they roost in groups under the bark of trees, under eaves or in bat boxes like the one near the pond. If you want to control insect populations in your yard or community, consider putting up your own bat house!

To participate in the Metro Parks GeoTrail go to www.metroparks.net/geotrail-2017 to find complete instructions. Download and print the GeoTrail page and complete at least 15 GeoTrail caches. As you find the caches fill in the cache clues on the GeoTrail page. The first 100 teams to return their forms are eligible to receive a Metro Parks Geocoin.
