Geocache Description:

First cache in a short series of 13 pirate themed caches placed on Adbolton Lane and close to the River Trent.

We've always loved pirates, dressing up, messing about on the river and all the fun that surrounds them. We have placed a series of caches close to the River Trent, infact they all follow Adbolton Lane. Some take in beautiful views of the Trent and the waters that surround such as lakes and Holme Pierrepont Watersports Centre. Each cache is broadly themed around a variety of pirates (and their pets), real and fantasy. The series takes in 12 caches but there are a few extras round an about. We plan to add more and extend the series at some point. One particular cache is Jim's Piratical Rumbustification Cache which we placed on what would have been Steve's brother's 65th birthday but sadly, he died a few months before. Jim loved sailing and spent a lot of time sailing on the Trent and was a very active member of the nearby sailing club which you will be passing enroute.  There is parking close by. You can park up and walk the route which is linear and probably around 1.5miles, mostly flat, mostly paths or grass verges. There is also public transport.  You could drive most of the route and most caches would only be a short walk away. We have tried to use a variety of D/Ts and cache containers. Photos of your piratical rumbustifications would definitely be appreciated.
