Geocache Description:

Grab your boots and a snack. You've got a long journey ahead!

The first known circumnavigation of Earth was the Magellan-Elcano expedition, which sailed from Spain in 1519 and returned in 1522. Francis Drake completed the second circumnavigation of the world in September 1580 on the Golden Hind, becoming the first commander to lead an entire circumnavigation.

Since then, various modes of transportation have been used to circumnavigate the earth, including using balloons, gliders, planes, spacecraft, boats, bicycles, and by foot (to name a few). I don't care particularly how you manage it, but to qualify for this cache you must have travelled a cache-to-cache distance equivalent to circumnavigating the world (24,901 miles). Use the checker below to determine your eligibility and paste the output as part of your log. For example, on the date of publication, my output read: "I made it with a distance of 112834.425 km and I only needed 40075 km This is 2.82 times the required distance."

Traveling is one of my favorite things to do and geocaching has encouraged me to explore the world even more. Why else would someone go to Yerington NV or Cincinnati OH? I hope this challenge encourages you to get out and see the sights. When you finally return home, you may need to replace your boots!
