THE GEOCACHE is a family friendly, six inch (15cm) cube lock&lock container, in a camo bag, hidden at the base of a tree, 4m into the trees, on the south side of the hidden corridor of bushes and trees. There is NO NEED to bushwhack through the trees, from the south side with the great view. There are swaps, a paper log and pencils, and plenty of room for Travel Bugs. Beware of the large puddle which can form across the path on the west side of the cache. Wellies are recommended in wet weather. Watch out for deer, and the occassional dog walker. Some great views from the high ground and the seats on the ridge. The geocache is deployed with the kind permission of the Coastal Sites Team, Hampshire County Council.
THE VENUE for the GF series is a family friendly closed loop around Grange Fields, which now forms part of the Westwood site. It has two picnic areas with tables, one exposed with great views, the other reasonably sheltered within the woodland, and also some seats with interesting views. The entrances might hinder buggies and bikes etc unless they are lifted. The paths are a mixture of hard gravel, cut and uncut grass, woodland, and open grass. Most areas are fairly level, but there is a central hill and plateau.
