Geocache Description:

Working at the car wash!

Coalville has a lot of cool stuff; old time grocery store, county museum, and even a 50s style drive thru that seems to have been here since the 50s!, but there's no car wash! [or at least there wasn't when the cache was originally placed. Maybe I inspired them] Now that's covered in a geocaching way.

This gadget cache gives you everything you need. But, you will need “every single thing” this cache provides to find the combination, this cache works only if you return “everything” just like you found it. Please leave everything that makes the cache work intact. If your little cacher wants a memory of parking their cache mobile. there are similar items FOR TRADE inside the cache.

The fun is in the find, so please help me out by not leaving the combo tube exposed. Please return the combination to the "middle" see details below. Then cap it back up.

Bonus points if you make car noises while finding the cache

VROOOOOOOOOMMM!

Coalville, UT is a historic town in Summit County, UT. It's name suggests where the history lies. If you're a history buff, you can learn more down the street from city hall (where the cache is) at the Summit County Museum. This is a great place to stop and stock up on your way to the recreation area at Echo Resevoir for a day on the water.

Mini-Muggleproofing: My apologies for having to make a gadget to get to the gadget. Tiny local muggles have been running off with the "cute" parts of the gadget. Hopefully this locking mechanism will slow them down. Please, please, please take the time to put the lock back in place properly so the next cacher has all the parts needed to have a good experience. I really don't want to have to archive this cache. Help keep it alive.

The combination to the lock on the RIGHT side of the cache is 5-3-0-0. Push then pull to open the lock. With the tension removed, the caps can be unscrewed. Please hang this black and silver lock on the eye bolt while you work the gadget so it does not get mixed up with the lock on the front. Now the gadget is ready to be operated as intended.

Here's the original hint: PLEASE don't damage this cache by touching it with ANYTHING but your hand, no tools, no sticks, no hoses, no water, NOTHING is needed but what the cache provides. Being gentle is very much appreciated, this takes a very light touch.

To replace: Replace the parts of the gadget, at least three to a side. Close up the cache and lock with the clean lock. Put both caps back on. Pull the cable snug. Line up the eye of the cable with the hole on the lock. Close the lock and spin the dials. By design, there is not enough slack in the cable to hook the shackle to the eye bolt and through the eye of the cable in any other position. Thanks for making sure the next cacher has a good experience.

Thanks to madamebutterfly1822 for the spiffy paint job on the car wash. Only part of it remains after years out in the elements. A special shout out to WVTim for inspiring this cache with one of his gadget caches and for supplying cache page text to help cachers reset the cache properly based on his experiences with that cache. Thank you Tim!!! A huge thanks to the City of Coalville for agreeing to host it at their City Hall. Finally thanks to the Utah Office of Tourism for allowing me to include this cache on the Utah GeoTour.
