The Old Channel Inn sits on the location of the former mouth of White River. The waterway that remains is called Sadony Buyou, which is fed by a creek called Pierson Drain. The buyou is home to several species of fish, turtles, snakes, wading birds, muskrats, beavers and other aquatic life. A family of muskrats have a push-up, or lodge if you will, just below the bridge on the left side of the marsh. If you approach the water slowly, you may see them. I haven't seen any beavers lately, but there are signs of there presence around the buyou.
The cache is a small container that is log-only, but there is as usual a hand hammered FTF tag for the taking. There is a pencil in the cache, but you may wish to bring your own. You can access this cache from the road or you can Kayak to it. If you see the muskrats, beavers or any of the other native wildlife snap a picture and post it.
