Camustianavaig is a crofting township on the shores of the Sound of Raasay 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) south east of Portree. The Allt Osglan watercourse flows from Loch Fada through the township into Tianavaig Bay. The name is from both Gaelic and Norse, Camas Dìonabhaig. "Camas" means "bay" in the former and the Norse element may be from "dyn" meaning "noisy".
This is a lovely place for a picnic, to begin the ascent of Ben Tianavaig, or simply birdwatch for great northern diver, cormorant, redshank, greenshank, eider and oystercatcher.
The cache is a cliplock box, medium sized, but suitable for TBs and coins..
There is a picnic table nearby, and room to leave a car.
PLEASE NOTE: THE CACHE IS WELL HIDDEN, PLEASE ENSURE YOU LEAVE IT THAT WAY - IT HAS HIGH TIDES AND STRONG WINDS TO CONTEND WITH.
