Cedar creek is a tributary of the San Diego River and the falls offer a beautiful view of the river canyon. The hike is considered easy and the trip was 3.5 miles for us though written descriptions describe it as 4.5 miles. I rate the trip a 2 for difficulty. The drive to the trail head is lengthly but the hike is well worth the ride. 1 mile west of Julian, turn on Pine Hills Road. After 1.5 miles bear right on Eagle Peak Road and drive about 9.5 miles on mostly dirt road to the trail head called Saddleback. Trail head parking is at waypoint: N33 00.142 W116 42.912 .
After hiking about 1.4 miles look for a spur road (N32 59.665 W116 43.701) that goes left. This will take you over a saddle that leads to a reflecting pool at the top of the falls. CAUTION! Its a long drop.
