La chiesa di S. Giovanni all'Archetto, situata nei pressi dove un tempo terminava il lago di Como, Summu lacu, oggi Samolaco, fu costruita in epoca medievale.
Danneggiata da alcune alluvioni nel XVI e XVII secolo, venne in parte ricostruita e benedetta nel maggio 1627.
L'affresco sulla facciata principale risale al secolo scorso ed è opera del pittore locale Prevosti.
Poco distanti dalla chiesa si trovano due calchere risalenti al XII sec ed usate inizialmente come ghiacciaie. E' solo dal 1500 che furono trasformate in fornaci per la cottura della calce.

La cache è nascosta nei pressi della seconda calchera, al di fuori di essa, in un muro in pietra sulla sinistra. Non rovinate il muretto, guardate la foto spoiler!
The church of S. Giovanni all'Archetto, is located near where a long time ago ended the Como lake, Summu lacu (in Latin), nowadays Samolaco, was built in medieval times.
Damaged by some floods in the 16th and 17th centuries, it was partly rebuilt and blessed in May 1627.
The fresco on the main facade dates back to the last century and is the work of the local painter Prevosti.
Not far from the church there are two lime-kilns dating back to the 12th century and used initially as places to store ice. It's only in the year 1500 that they were turned into kilns for lime cooking.
Both detailed information boards were placed at the church and the lime-kilns - from which I've taken these short notes.
The cache is hidden near the second lime-kiln, outside of it, in a stone wall on the left. Do not dismantle the wall, please look at the spoiler picture!
