Le Marigot est une commune française, située dans le département de la Martinique en région Martinique. Ses habitants sont appelés les Marigotains et les Marigotaines.
En 2014, la commune comptait 3 394 habitants.
LE SITE :
La commune du Marigot se situe le long de la côte atlantique au nord de la Martinique. Elle s'étend entre Le Lorrain et Sainte Marie.
Les premiers colons s'établissent ici en 1680 et cultivent la terre. Essentiellement le tabac dans un premier temps.
Au cours du XVIIIème et XIXème siècle la culture de la canne à sucre bat son plein et un téléphérique est même construit sur plus de 13km pour acheminer la production à l'usine du Lorrain.
Le déclin de l'industrie sucrière au cours de la première moitié du XXème siècle entraine la fermeture progressive des usines et la pêche devient alors la principale ressource du bourg.
Le Marigot ne compte pas d'attraction touristique et de ce fait les visites s'y font rares... On citera toutefois l'Habitation Lagrange construite en 1920 pour son originalité mais la visite de cette dernière n'est pas possible à jour.
Les surfeurs pourront défier les rouleaux de l'Anse Charpentier. Un spot cependant réservé aux plus aguerris à cause des courants et de la force de la houle. La baignade y est d'ailleurs interdite.
Les randonneurs, quant à eux, pourront profiter du sentier côtier pour se rendre jusqu'au Pain de Sucre en longeant la mer.
LA CACHE :
Une fois que vous avez trouvé une place pour votre voiture sur le parking prévu, le site est très facile d'accès. La cache de petite taille manétique contient originellement le log mais pas de crayon. Apportez donc votre crayon (BYOP) et soyez extrêmement discret, l’endroit est très fréquenté. SVP replacez la cache exactement à l’endroit où vous l’avez trouvé.

The municipality of the Marigot is situated along the Atlantic Coast in the North of Martinique. It extends between Lorraine and Sainte Marie.
The first colons become established here in 1680 and cultivate the earth. Essentially the tobacco at first.
During the XVIIIth and XIXth century the culture of the sugar cane is going full swing and a cable railway is even built on more of 13km to forward the production to the factory of Lorrain.
The decline of the sugar industry during the first half of the XXth century led to the gradual closure of factories and fishing becomes then the main resource of the village. The Marigot does not count tourist attraction and this paid the visits become scarce there... We shall quote however the House Lagrange built in 1920 for its originality but the visit of the latter is not possible up to date.
The surfers can challenge the rollers of the Anse Carpenter. A spot however reserved in the most hardened because of the currents and of the strength of the swell. The bathing is moreover forbidden it.
The walkers, as for them, can take advantage of the coastal path to go(surrender) up to the Sugar loaf by following the sea.
THE CACHE :
When you found a place for your car on the parking lot, the site is very easily accessible. The small-sized magnétic hiding place contains originally the log but no pencil. Thus bring your pencil ( BYOP) and be extremely discreet, the place is very busy. PLEASE replace the hiding place exactly in the place where you found It.
