This cache is located on the Isthmus in Pardeeville. This property is located adjacent to the newest park in Pardeeville called Volunteer Park. It is where the flood of 2008 nearly washed out State Highway 22. The people of Pardeeville banded together to build a temporary spillway over Hwy 22 and kept it from washing the road out. The State then made a new spillway under Hwy 22 that only has water flowing during flood stage. You can walk into the park from the parking lot and examine the spillway and new gazebo.
Just a few feet on the other side of the spillway you can see the old generator building and a plaque where the first hydro generator ever built on the Fox River system of Dams was built and is still in use today.
The view from GZ of the cache location is spectacular and looks out over Spring Lake which is called The Lower Lake by everyone in Pardeeville.
Pay attention to the D/T ratings as there is a steep bank nearby.
