Cette cinquième visite vous transporte sur la rue De Lagauchetière, entre les rues Côté et Chenneville. Nous sommes en 1896 devant l'école de garçons St-Patrick dirigé par les Frères Chrétiens, dont le principal est le frère James. Vers 1912 l'école deviendra le Pensionnat Saint-Laurent, puis, cédant à la modernité, les bâtiments seront détruits et on retrouvera à cet endroit un stationnement "Four Corners" autour de 1940. La Montreal Street Railway Company occupera par la suite le lotissement dans les années '50 avec une cour pouvant accueillir 12 tramways.
This fifth visit brings you to De Lagauchetière street, between Côté and Chenneville streets. We are in 1896 in front of the St. Patrick's boys school led by the Christian Brothers, the principal being Brother James. Around 1912, the school became the St. Lawrence Boarding School, and then, yielding to modernity, the buildings were destroyed and there was the "Four Corners" parking lot around 1940. The Montreal Street Railway Company then occupied this site in the '50s with a courtyard that can accommodate 12 tramways. |
