Geocache Description:

Nice big ammo tin located between the Sabine hut, and the Sabine Gorge.

As an added incentive to venture into this area I have added another cache. A water taxi service is available on Lake Rotoroa if you don't have your own boat, or you can walk to this location via the Speargrass track, Lake Angelus, via the Durville hut, or over the Travers Saddle.

Nearby you will find a nice flat clearing along the river bank, and the cache is placed at the base of a terrace just before you start climbing.

You are looking for a large, dead beech tree leaning out from the bank. About 10m from the track. coordinates may be a bit out due to thick bush cover in this area, and the poor weather conditions encountered during placement.

Please replace as found. You may need your own pen as I think I forgot to leave one. There are some spare logbook sheets and plastic bags if required for maintenance of other caches in the area.
