El castillo de Santa Àgueda, situado a 264 metros de altura sobre el nivel del mar, fue construido por los árabes durante el califato de Córdoba sobre los cimientos de un castrum romano (de hecho se conserva un largo tramo de calzada romana). Este castillo sirvió como último bastión defensivo árabe ante el ataque cristiano liderado por Alfonso III de Aragón a finales de siglo XIII. Más tarde, en 1343 fue destruido por Pedro IV de Aragón. Actualmente el conjunto se encuentra en ruinas, si bien se están llevando a cabo acciones restaurativas, de forma que se ruega a los visitantes que respeten las señales dirigidas a preservar los restos.
El geocache es pequeño y está emplazado a cierta distancia del conjunto patrimonial, a fin de no actuar en perjuicio de los trabajos restaurativos que se están realizando.

Santa Agueda Castle, located at 264 metres above the sea level, was built by the Arabs during the Caliphate of Cordoba, on the foundations of a Roman castrum (actually, it's been preserved a long section of a Roman road). This castle was the last defensive Arab bastion against the Christian offensive led by Alfonso III, King of Aragon at the end of the 13th century. Later, in 1343, it was demolished by Pedro IV of Aragon. These days the site is in ruins, although some repairing actions have been carried out recently, so that we request visitors to obey the signs in order to preserve these historic remains.
The geocache is small and it's located at some short distance from the historic remains, in order to not interfere in the repairing actions in progress.
