Not much bush wacking here. Placed just inside the tree-line, this cylinderical 8 cup Tupperware style container may be hard to see because I painted in camo colors. See photo gallery. Falling leaves, twigs and sticks partially cover it. Paint is chipping from the lid so look for a few specks of white. Kinda small, so bring small items to exchange.
Note: This is a gated facility and is closed sunset to sunrise. To arrive at the parking lot associated with this cache you will need to be traveling E/B on Interstate 80. Follow the exit to the scenic overlook Visitor’s Center. If you are westbound on I-80, exit to Il Rt. 84 (last Illinois exit,) turn left and re-enter I-80 on the E/B ramp.
Be sure to stop in at the Visitor’s Center and say hello to the friendly staff.
You will not have to cross any ravines. Stinging nettles guard the forest floor, just as poison ivy rings the grassy edges of the timber.
Headed Westbound on I-80 after finding the cache?? When you leave you will need to go east on I-80 to MP 4. After taking the second ramp (I-88 W/B from I-80 E/B) do a "double flip" and you will be back on course. Please don't use the Emergency Vehicle turnarounds in the median. Thanks.
