Some caches are micros, a few can hold a trackable, some are easy finds, and others prove to be quite difficult. All we ask from the Leadership Wayne class is that you enjoy the finds and learn something new about our wonderful county. Upon completion of the entire trail you will be able to collect your GeoCoin at the Wayne County museum after you have recorded your code words on the passport from each of the 50 locations.
The park is located on the site of the former town of Waynesborough, the original seat of Wayne County from 1787 The park is open 9 to 5, Mon - Sat and Sun 1-5. Trails are open from sunrise to sunset year round. 1848. The park consists of a village featuring nine historic buildings brought from across the county. These buildings, including a school, lawyer’s office, and Quaker meeting house, date from the 1860s to the 1920s. In addition to the village, we have more than 150 acres along the Neuse and Little Rivers with more than four miles of walking trails through open spaces, forest, and cypress swamp.
