Geocache Description:

This is one of our dog walking routes that we thought others might enjoy. It is about 4 kms long.

Starting from Cwm Bach, the walk goes up through Fishponds wood to Ffynnon Gynydd common, on to the old village well and then around the common to return via the footpath again.

In spring the cherry trees, planted for the millennium, lining the path carpet the ground with fallen petals. Blue alkanet flowers brighten the way too and of course the bluebells here give a nice display. The path crosses a wide ditch which is the old leat which supplied water to Maesllwch Castle.

There are excellent views of Hay Bluff, Gospel Pass and Twmpa just here.
