This is one of our dog walking routes that we thought others might enjoy. It is about 4 kms long.
Starting from Cwm Bach, the walk goes up through Fishponds wood to Ffynnon Gynydd common, on to the old village well and then around the common to return via the footpath again.
The well is covered by a shelter and is a memorial to Walter Fenwick de Winton. The plaque of 1892 names the spring Ffynnon Gynidr not Ffynnon Gynydd, and in fact the spring has been known as Ffynnon Gynidr or Cynidr since the 14th century.
The well is by the road, so dogs and kids beware.
The cache is NOT in the shelter.
