Before the M9 this used to be the main Dublin road where all the hitch-hikers stood waiting to get a spin to other parts of the country...
Now the road is mainly used for local traffic from Kilkenny to Carlow, Leighlin Bridge, Paulstown...
As a W.B Yeats fan I used to travel to Sligo regularly.... and before I had a car hitch-hiking was the only way forward... this road brings back memories of friends and festivals in Sligo and travels to the West....
