Welcome to the Flagler Beach Museum!

The Flagler Beach Historical Museum came about as the result of planning for the 75th Celebration of the town of Flagler Beach back in 2000. In gathering old pictures and artifacts from some of the pioneer families, it was decided that these things should be made available for the public to enjoy. A non-profit corporation in the name of Flagler Beach Historical Museum, Inc. was formed and membership rolls opened to the public. Funding was secured from the Flagler County Tourist Development Council and the City of Flagler Beach to renovate the old fire station adjacent to City Hall. The museum’s location at 207 S. Central Avenue in Flagler Beach opened on the 27th of September, 2001.

Catherine Wilson, the Museum's Founder and President for fifteen years, is the daughter of George E. Wickline and the granddaughter of A.V. and Etta Wickline. She moved to Flagler Beach in 1956 with her husband Bernie Wilson, and their daughters JoAnne and Barbara (Barbara Revels, former Flagler County Commissioner). In 1998, Catherine Wilson wrote the book, “A New Beginning” - “A Picturesque History of Flagler Beach, Florida” which is available at the Museum. Catherine stepped down as museum President in January 2016 and is now designated Founder and Director Emeritus. . And the rest is... HISTORY!!
