Takutairaroa Bay (Motuihe Island) Traditional Cache

Motuihe Island is an island paradise situated in the Hauraki Gulf, 30 minutes ferry trip from downtown Auckland.  Motuihe Island has sheltered bays, clear waters and white sandy beaches, making it great for swimming.  The Island is pest free and is also home to native New Zealand wildlife such as kiwi and tuatara.

The spot where this cache has been hidden has lovely views down Takutairaroa Bay with Motutapu Island in the background.  Also to the West is a great view of the Auckland city skyline.

The cache is a small plastic jar, containing only a logbook – so you will need to bring your own pen.
