Vintage? Of toch niet? Traditional Cache

U zult nog veel rietgedekte boerderijen zien met felgroene luiken, blauwe kozijnen en een ‘levensboom’ in het glas boven de voordeur.
Een deel van deze boerderijen is beschermd dorpsgezicht.

Ook aan het interieur schenkt men veel aandacht. De verftechniek op de foto links heet ‘neuteboom’. Dit is een imitatie van een notenboom.

Ook is er nog de klederdracht, dat nu nog door een aantal vrouwen en een enkele man wordt gedragen.

Mijn oma draagt deze kleding nog. Op de foto links is ze de middelste dame.

Na de Tweede Wereldoorlog werden ook houten en andere gebruiksvoorwerpen met Stipwerk bedrukt. In de cache zult u dit zien.

Portugese modeontwerper Ricardo Ramos haalde hiermee de internationale pers.
Hij hield een aantal modeshows met deze kleding en allerlei bijpassende accessoires. Zo ontstond het merk Staphorst is Hip.

Het Staphorster Stipwerk is een speciale techniek die wordt gebruikt om stoffen en andere materialen te bedrukken en te versieren. Dit drukken gebeurt met stempels die zijn gemaakt van klosjes hout of kurken waarop spelden, spijkers of andere stukjes metaal zijn bevestigd. Deze stempels worden in verf gedoopt en zo op bijv. stof bedrukt. Stempels met verschillende motiefjes krijgen zo een eigen patroon. De kleuren hebben ook een betekenis. De kleurentradities rond de rouw speelden daarbij een belangrijke rol. Blauw en groen zijn de kleuren van de rouw. In rouwperiodes wordt geen rood gebruikt.

You will see several thatched farmhouses with bright green shutters, blue window frames and a “tree of life” in the window above the front door. A part of these farmhouses is protected village scene.

The interiors get also a lot attention. The paint technique in the picture on the left is called “neuteboom”.

A few women and a single man still wear the traditional clothing. So does my grandmother.

The celebrations around the 200 year anniversary of the village in 2010 inspired people to design modern clothing based on the traditional clothing, using the original materials.

Portuguese designer Ricardo Ramos reached the international press with his new designs.

He gave a number of fashion shows with these clothes and matching accessories. The new brand “Staphorst is Hip” was born.

The Staphorster Stipwerk is a special technique, used for handmade prints and to decorate materials. The printing is done by stamps, made of wooden bobbins or corks, on which pins, nails or other pieces of hardware are attached. These stamps are dipped in paint and pressed on the materials. The different stamps create their own patterns. The colours traditions surrounding mourning played an important role in the meaning of the colours. Blue and green are the colours of mourning. Red will not be used in periods of mourning.
