Geocache Description:

This cache was placed as part of my ParticipACTION 150 event to get Canadians out, moving and exploring this beautiful country!

Once upon a time, not too long ago, telephones weren't nearly as portable as they are now. Today, nearly everyone has one snuggly placed in their pocket or purse. But it wasn't always that way! It's true! There was a time when you had to have a quarter with you always, in case you needed to make a call. Before that, it was a dime! You would look for one of these booths and deposit your quarter to contact someone. But it had better be someone local! Most of the time, these booths were attached to walls. But sometimes you'd find one in it's own, freestanding booth! Yes kids, that's not just Superman's closet! It served an honest to goodness purpose beyond super hero quick changes! So as you find this cache, take time to soak in this piece of communication history as they're quickly becoming extinct! #savethebooth
