This cache "honours" the scariest, devil-incarnated magpies I have ever come across along this stretch of road. Riding between the two roundabouts on either side of this cache on Carruthers Road (corners of Ayres St and McCulloch St respectively) is true danger territory for cyclists, and often walkers, in swooping season. So cachers consider yourself warned...
For those of you who share my healthy fear of magpie an entrepreneuring Sydney IT manager can assist. He has established a website that maps magpie attacks: http://www.magpiealert.com. As you will see this cache is located in a hot bed for bad attacks :-(
While the large gums that line the roads of Curtin are splendid they provide perfect homes, or fortresses, for surprise attacks.
I have had a number of bad swoops along here, and witnessed even worse. During the swooping season I take an alternative route to not go up this road, especially to get down to the Woden town centre..
