Geocache Description:

Cache not a posted coordinates. But, parking at posted coordinates will get you part of the way there. You'll need to work out the solution to find the actual cache.

It has been pointed out to me that this is not Catoctin Creek, but rather Goose Creek. The name of the cache has been changed to reflect this.

Dr. Andrea Romar would like to find a new cancer drug. She has heard that there might be something in the Amazon. It is said that the natives have found a plant they use to shrink heads. She has hopes that it could be used to shrink cancerous tissue.

Dr. Romar's steam boat chugs up the river to find that most of the locals are highly agitated. It seems that just days earlier, the fabled Curucu beast had come down river and the superstitious people had left in panic. Despite the local politics, she find a traveling companion willing to travel deep into the jungle with her. Plantation owner, Rock Dean, wants to get his workers back. The two decide to go where no outsiders had been before. Before leaving town, they enjoy a show and some local dancing - probably the best dancing either of them had ever seen.

Deep in the jungle, Dr. Romar finds herself fact-to-face with the Curucu. She's terrified, but doesn't forget her mission. "Where is the special magic that shrinks heads?" she asks the beast. It answers back in complete nonsense, "Mreb svir cbvag sbhe fvk rvtug!!!" Dr. Romar screams. A feathery hand with long claws rises up next to her face. She repeats, "Where do the medicine men keep the magic?" Again, the beast answers back, "Guvegl cbvag mreb svir avar!"

A rifle shot echoes through the trees. Rock Dean arrives just as the Curucu runs off into the tall grass. "Maybe it would be best to return to town." Rock tell Dr. Romar. But, she insists that she now knows exactly where to look for her cancer drug. Despite her companion's objections, she pushes him to press on.

After a rather easy walk on a well established path used by the natives, she leads Rock off the trail to a secret spot know only to the tribal elders and medicine men of the Amazon. You too can search for the secret to the shrunken heads if you know where to look. Be wary of snakes, spiders, poisonous jungle plants, and maybe even piranhas.

You are looking for an Ammo Can (thank you NoVAGO for giving these away at their 2017 Spring Event) that I've stuffed with some cool stuff that should make you think of the Amazon rainforest along with some cool home-made key chains. I've also tossed in a few small trash bags if, when you get to the cache, decide you'd like to collect trash on your way back.
